The 33rd Galway Film Fleadh
The 33rd Galway Film Fleadh was an ambitious tribrid of outdoors, online and in-cinema screenings, implementing learnings after we brought the festival fully virtual the previous year.
The challenge was to promote outdoors, online and in-cinema to different audiences; the online element to film lovers throughout the country, the outdoors and in-cinema to locals while also enticing people traveling to Galway. The outdoors aspect also presented a great opportunity to attract a new audience as it was the first time in the festival’s history that the Fleadh was being held outdoors, in addition to being the first live festival event taking place in over a year and a half in Galway, the festival capital of Ireland.
Lorg Media’s goal was to promote awareness and drive ticket sales with a coordinated marketing campaign encompassing digital strategy, content creation and digital advertising.

Key Objectives

What We Did
Lorg Media managed all content for the Film Fleadh’s social media channels and created eye-catching motion graphics and promotional materials. Tapping into current social media trends we created the Film Fleadh’s first reels for Instagram. We also created a comprehensive content schedule and advertising campaign, as we worked closely with local businesses and stakeholders to cross promote the festival.
During the festival week we captured and shared video content including drone footage and fast turnaround video content to leverage awareness and the exciting atmosphere of the outdoor screenings. We kept the conversation going strong online with Fleadh Forum live tweeting and messaging. Daily updates kept our audiences informed and encouraged them to purchase tickets. We provided customer service and online communications to boot, ensuring everyone had a fantastic festival experience.
